The Japan Patent Office (JPO) has provided vigorous support for human resource development since 1996 in order to reinforce the protection of IP in developing countries. The training program in Japan is funded by the JPO, while its operation is entrusted to the Japan Institute for Promoting Invention and Innovation (JIPII) and the Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS).
