On April 28, 2022, Kazpatent held a round table on the topic: “Development of the industrial property protection system: law enforcement practice”.
Opening the round table, Acting Director of Kazpatent Abzal Estayev congratulated colleagues on the International Intellectual Property Day and noted the importance of this event.
The round table was attended by Eurasian Patent Attorney Nurgaisha Sakhipova; Patent Attorney of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Eurasian Patent Attorney, Deputy Director General of the Intellectual Property Agency Tagbergenova and Partners LLP, Chairman of the Chamber of Patent Attorneys of Kazakhstan Modangul Tagbergenova, patent Attorney of the Intellectual Property Agency Tagbergenova and Partners LLP Aliya Toktabulatova, representatives of the Union of Patent Attorneys attorneys and other patent attorneys of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Patent Attorney Modangul Tagbergenova in her welcoming speech voiced problematic issues in the field of trademarks and expressed the need for joint work of patent attorneys with Kazpatent.
The management of Kazpatent took part in full, including employees of the Almaty branch via video link.
In honor of the celebration of the International Intellectual Property Day, Kazpatent noted the TOP 10 patent attorneys for their active activities in the field of IP protection by the end of 2021. During the round table, Abzal Estayev presented letters of thanks to the patent attorneys Modangul Tagbergenova and Assel Ibragimova present.
The round table was held in the format of a dialogue in a hybrid form. The heads of the relevant departments and offices provided answers to all the questions asked by patent attorneys.
The subjects of discussion were issues of protection of trademarks and industrial designs, as well as issues related to the patentability of inventions and utility models.
In conclusion, the participants thanked Kazpatent for organizing the round table and expressed hope for
further discussion of the topics raised.
